The Standard in Downtown Rockford Hosting First Public Event Tonight

Here's another excuse to head to downtown Rockford tonight; The Standard on State is hosting their first open-to-the-public event with live music and plenty of fun.

If you're like me, you haven't been lucky enough to receive an invitation to an event at Rockford's newest wedding and party venue, The Standard on State. Well, here's our chance to hang with the cool kids tonight instead of just looking up longingly at them as we drive down State Street.

The Standard will be hosting live music on their rooftop from Taboo Blah Blah tonight starting at 7:30 p.m. There will be a cash bar available too, but here's a heads up; The Standard's rooftop can only hold up to 320 people, so you better get there early. The roof is bound to get packed fast with the Rockford City Market happening tonight too. Check out the Facebook page  for more information about tonight's event.

Here's another cool thing to add to your summer social calendar; The Standard is hosting a big ol' 4th of July party on their rooftop this year, and tickets are selling fast! For $80 per adult, $15 for children 12 and younger, you can enjoy live music, traditional BBQ fare and all the "lawnmower beers" you can drink, plus take in Rockford's fireworks spectacular from a fabulous rooftop view. Tickets will not be sold at the door, so you better buy them in advance here.
