From 2011 until 2014 Illinois was the 2nd biggest loser of tax paying millennials according to Illinois Policy.

So what exactly does that mean? The youth have had enough and plan of finding a better living somewhere else. Usually, it's the retired community that decides it's time to get out and find a sunshine state. But in Illinois, it's the money making youth that leave the Land of Lincoln.

Over four years from 2011 through 2014, Illinois suffered a total net loss of as many as 148,000 millennials, including those attending college out of state. That is the population of Rockford people.
