The Illinois Motorcycle Blue Light Law for 2017
Attention motorcycle riders in Illinois there is a new law you should know about.
New laws for the state of Illinois go into effect the first of the year, if you are a two wheel rider, here is one you should know about.
According to The Rockford Advocate and Public Communications Officer of ABATE Josh Witkowski there is something being called the "Blue Light Bill".
The "Blue Light Bill" allows for a blue light to be in the center of the rear red light on your motorcycle. The purpose of this is the contrast of the colors will make you braking more visible.
When that motorcyclist hits their brake, you see a contrasting light almost instantly - Public Communications Officer of ABATE Josh Witkowski
This one makes complete sense to me, any sort of chance to see motorcycles clearer, and faster is a good thing. When you hit your brakes and the motorist behind you gets a red AND a blue light, that is an instant attention grabber.
