A teen carrying a gun, threatened to shoot a 61-year-old man who was walking with his wife in a Target store.

What is wrong with this world?

I came across a story on the Wisconsin State Journal that just had me outraged.

Saturday, a 61-year-old Freeport man and his wife were shopping in Target at 4301 Lien Road in Madison, Wisconsin, minding their own business. They were walking behind a teenager in the store when the unthinkable happened.

Suddenly, a teen armed with a handgun turned around and threatened to shoot him dead.

Why? No one really knows, but police say it's possible they mistook the 61-year-old shopper as a loss prevention officer.

When this happened, a security guard at target saw the incident and jumped in.

The teen said "I'll blow this f------ place up!" and threatened the security guard as well.

Security guards told police they saw the teen handling liquor bottles, which maybe the teen intended on stealing.

Another couple saw the teen when they were about to enter the store. The couple said they saw the teen pull out the handgun and point it towards the store.

The teen fled with a friend.

Thankfully no one was injured and no shots were fired.

I can't help but think in my mind how scared the Freeport man, his wife, security and others in the store must have felt.

Again, thankfully everyone is alright.
