Instead of being happy, people would rather pay lower taxes according to a recent study.

Last week, my mail was flooded with tax statements. That means I'll have to start working on my 2018 income taxes. It depresses me every year. I'm always trying to figure out a way to get the best refund. Sometimes, it works out better than others.

What if you could stop paying taxes. Of course, you would have to trade something. Would you give up happiness?

According to theladders.com,

"54% of Americans would choose lower taxes over happiness?"

This survey talked to 1,000 people.

That 54% said they wouldn't pay higher taxes even if it meant increasing happiness in their life.

75% questioned said they wouldn't pay higher taxes for universal healthcare.

89% replied they wouldn't pay higher taxes for parental leave.

I agree. I think we already pay too many taxes. At this point, I'm not going to support any kind of increase.
