One lucky son-of-a-gun just became $400,000,000 richer after being taxed on the $700mil Powerball jackpot. As of this writing, we don't know who that person is but we know the lucky ticket was sold in somewhere in Massachusetts.  We also know a much smaller (big still huge) amount of money was won in Illinois.

Someone purchased a winning $2,000,000 Powerball ticket in Illinois and was smart enough to add Power Play to it. Had they not done that the prize would have been cut in half, which is still enough money to be happy about. Who could be bummed about winning a million bucks? No one with a brain, surely.

The $2 million winning Powerball ticket was purchased at a liquor store down in Joliet, IL. A little nightcap possibly? Add that with a seven-figure prize and you've got yourself a party, right? According to WGN, the ticket matched five numbers and had the bonus Power Play.

The $2,000,000 winning ticket was purchased at Highland Liquors, 1619 E. Cass St., and matched five of six numbers, plus the PowerPlay number. If the player had not added the PowerPlay option, their prize would be $1,000,000.

Whoever picked up that winning ticket better sign the back of it, locked it up, and be prepared for random "relatives" to show up asking for money.

The Illinois Lottery urges the lucky winner to immediately sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until they visit one of the Lottery’s five Prize Centers in Chicago, Des Plaines, Rockford, Springfield or Fairview Heights. Winners have one year from the original drawing date to claim their prize.
