Do you think there should be a dress code for parents visiting their children at school?

When taking my daughter to school, picking her up in the afternoon, or attending events, I've seen many interesting things.

One situation that always amazes me is the way parents dress. Now, please don't take this the wrong way. I'm not a suit and tie guy. I don't think there's a need to get dressed up but maybe some suggestions on what to wear and not wear.

Sometimes I feel like I'm going to Walmart instead of a school. Lots of pajama pants, looking like they are ready to go club hopping, and my favorite... swear words and drug references.

School is hard enough for kids without having their moms and dads embarrass them by wearing inappropriate clothes.

Lawmakers in Tennessee think a parent dress code for school is necessary.

According to thehill.com,

"Tennessee state Rep. Antonio Parkinson (D) is gaining national headlines after he proposed a measure to enforce a dress code on all parents in the state when visiting public schools."

"The Tennessee Democrat said that he realized it was time for parents to adhere to a set of rules after hearing a number of “horror stories” from educators and constituents about how parents dress and behaved when visiting the state’s public schools."

Do you think we need one in Rockford?
