The Shedd Aquarium just announces their free days for Illinois residents. They also plan to extend hours on some of those days.

Illinois residents with a valid ID will be able to receive free admission to the Shedd Aquarium, plus take part in other aquatic exhibits (subject to availability). Those presentations are "Washed Ashore: Art to Save the Sea" (through Sept.2018), seasonal Stingray Touch (Open late May till October), Daily Animal Chats, and more. If you'd like to upgrade to a 4-D Experience be expected to pay $4.95 per guest. If you reserve your Illinois Resident Free Day tickets online there will be a $3 transactions fee. Because capacity is limited, they recommend you reserve your tickets in advance.

  • January 15, 18, 19, 22-26
  • February 2, 14
  • June 4, 5, 11, 12, 18, 19
  • September 4-30
  • October 3, 10

Extended Hours (Open until 9 PM) :
