April is Autism Awareness Month.  And the place where a kid can be a kid has announced Sensory Sensitive Sundays.

This is offered at participating locations the first Sunday of every month. Chuck E Cheese will open two hours early on these days and offer a sensory-friendly environment with a trained and friendly staff. They have now joined other businesses who are trying to make things friendlier for kids with autism and others with special sensory needs. Kudos!!

The Sensory Sensitive Sundays experience will include:

  • Less Crowding and Noise
  • Show and Music Turned Down or Off
  • Dimmed Lighting
  • Limited Appearances from Chuck E.
  • Food and Games Offered

Unfortunately the Rockford location doesn't yet offer this, but there are a couple locations near us that do. Click here for the list of participating locations.
