Rockford Ranked As One of The Best Cities For Music

Music lovers, this is something we can all celebrate! Way to go Rockford!

Rockford shows up on a bunch of lists. Usually, they aren't anything to write home about.

For example; Two Rockford Area Cities Ranked in the Worst Small Cities Report, Rockford Ranked High in Illinois for Divorce Rates and Rockford Made the FBI's list of Most Dangerous Cities in America. 

Sure, we've gotten a bad wrap from the media and data crunchers, but Rockford in my opinion, Rockford isn't all that the Negative Nancy nay-sayers make it out to be.

I think Rockford is a pretty incredible place, filled with amazing food, incredible architecture, fantastic people and events and live music.

Oh, and Cheap Trick, duh.

Speaking of live music, a new national list naming the Best Cities for Music Fans  has been announced via ValuePenguin.com.

In case you didn't know the man, the myth and the legend Verne K. Smith, Rockford's biggest live music fan, you may not know just how incredible the live music scene is here in Rockford.

Verne would be at every show, much like our very own Kevin McCarthy is today.

Rockford is booming with live music. There are countless numbers of shows at each and every bar, dock, event and restaurant at any given day or night.

Rockford is a place that breathes on live music and this list celebrates it.

In the entire nation, Rockford was ranked #48 for the best cities for music fans. Yes!
