Changes are coming to your electric bill if you live in Rockford, Roscoe, or Loves Park. The City of Rockford made note of the change through a letter and via Facebook, citing energy and cost savings. Residents should notice a 4% savings on their bills, which will still come from ComEd (which will distribute the electricity), according to WREX. The actual supplier of the electricity will be Nordic Energy Services, LLC.

There will be two options for residents in regards to the energy used, and the transition will be automatic. Residents do have the option to opt out, which can be done by clicking here.

The City of Rockford is also warning residents of scammers during this transition.

If someone approaches you or calls about a cheaper rate, please know that it is not City staff or ComEd staff and that the City contract is giving you the best possible rate.
