Rockford Anchor Makes “The Daily Show” [VIDEO]

It's short but it's part of a pretty sweet burn. Jon Stewart was doing his thing, using strategically played videos to skewer the target du jour. The last time I saw our friend Mimi Murphy in person, we were helping judge martinis at a fundraiser along with her co-anchor, Nick Toma. It was a great night for a great cause. So as I'm channel-surfing one night last week at about 10 p.m. Of course, I'm scrambling to change it to WTVO for their stellar newscast, and along the way I come across "The Daily Show." There is a picture of Rep. Tammy Duckworth. She's from Illinois so I stop for a moment. During the story, they play a short news clip and whose voice do I hear?

Yep, that was Mimi Murphy. It was one of those funny things that kind of takes you by surprise. Like seeing someone you know in the paper's Police Blotter. I must say, it was nice to recognize someone on the news that wasn't "due in court."
