1999 - During intermission of a concert of symphonic Beatles music in Jerusalem, someone stole George Martin's music. The theft was not discovered for several days, and Martin threatened to cancel a concert in Tel Aviv. Most of the music was returned.

1998 - Rod Stewart promoted his album "When We Were The New Boys" with a series of hour-long shows along West Hollywood's Sunset Strip. He kicked it off with a free concert in the parking lot of Tower Records.

1989 - Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones married 19-year-old model Mandy Smith. They divorced 2 years later.

1978 - Bruce Springsteen released "Darkness on the Edge of Town."

1964 - The Rolling Stones gave their American debut performance at the Manning Bowl in Lynn, Massachusetts.
