This gorgeous house used to be owned by Rockford royalty. Let's see what $800,00 can get you in the Forest City.

NOTE: Normally when I write one of these real estate blogs I include a bunch of snarky, sarcastic comments. There will be far less of these because this house is actually pretty awesome.

Here's what greets you when you pull in. Pretty nice. Nothing screams "I paid over three quarters of a MILLION dollars for this place" like a high gate paired with a driveway so long you can't see the house. Yes, this is pretty nice but just think about shoveling this in the winter. No thanks.

Classy. I'm going to use that word a lot. Sorry if it gets old. This is just a good looking entrance (foyer?) I'm a big fan of curved staircases and that blue color is striking. Wasn't expecting to see that color. Great start to the tour.

Now THAT'S a kitchen. Pretty sure that island has more counter space than my whole kitchen. Those big wooden boards on the ceiling, which might be called joists (I'm doing zero research for this blog) look great. I think I spy two (2!) ranges with custom full-sized fridge and freezer. I already like to cook, but I could probably spend the rest of my life just in this room.

Here's the dining room. I'm just guessing here, but I doubt anyone has actually sat down for dinner at that table this millennium.  People just don't use their dining rooms anymore. Not enough screens in there. I will also say that I'm not a huge fan of the color in here. Is that seafoam green? Not sure.

This room is gorgeous. Is this a breakfast nook on steroids? Looks like it. When your nook is larger than my family room, you know you've made a significant purchase. Congrats to whoever gets to eat eggs Benedict in this room.

What good is having a huge house if there's nowhere to entertain. This appears to be some sort of theater. A screen probably drops down on the far wall. Little narrow for my liking, but it's not like I'll be buying this anytime soon.

Speaking of entertaining. This is a one of a kind room. I know I said I could spend the rest of my life in that kitchen but I'd have to escape once in awhile to have a cocktail in this gem of a room. Stained glass. Cozy chairs. Wood finished bar. It's all there for some memorable drinks with friends.

Let's move on to a bedroom. This is a very understated master bedroom. There's nothing to make fun of in here. Let's go to the bathroom.

This place is awesome. I generally find baths to be gross, but I'd hang out behind that privacy glass till I pruned up. I also am noticing a LOT of real estate between the two sinks. I'm not married but that seems like it would be a nice feature.

Here's the guest bath. Not too shabby. Might want to watch your step getting out of the shower. I don't see any non-stick pads on the floor. I'd look into getting some of those. Safety first. Let's head outside.

Lots of room to entertain out here. If you buy this house, I'd live outside for $750 a month. There's plenty of shelter on the porch and for showering purposes, I'd just take a quick dip in......

...this pool! I mean this is worth half a million on its own. AND it has a small dog statue? Sign me up.

There you have it. One of the more iconic homes in Rockford. It could all be yours if you have an extra million laying around. Any takers?
