Three years ago a deadly EF-4 tornado tore through Fairdale and Rochelle, Illinois. The damage was devasting and the deaths it caused are truly sad. Today, the towns and their citizens stand strong even though some are still rebuilding there lives.

One of the businesses affected by the tornado, Grubsteakers, was able to rebuild and re-open. And, on the menu, you'll find the Tornado Burger, filled with onion rings, chopped bacon, and a bunch of cheese. Want to know you? Ava Mirtoska (owner of Grubsteakers) explained it to Eyewitness News.

The 'Tornado Burger' was born when the restaurant reopened in 2016 after being devastated by a tornado over a year earlier. Mirtoska says she wanted to use ingredients that resembled the situation they were able to recover from.

Here's a look at some of the damaged caused by the EF-4 tornado.
