This weekend I put on my favorite Pink Floyd album, Meddle. Each song is so different from the others. The side-long trippy "Echoes", the junkyard bluesy "Seamus", or the disturbingly aggressive album opener "One of These Days." One song that really stands out is one of the few Floyd tunes that has an actual guitar riff. When you think about it, they don't have too many of those. Maybe the bass line in "Money," or the disco enhanced singalong of "Another Brick in the Wall."

The third cut from Meddle is "Fearless." The infectious riff and woozy David Gilmour vocals carry through until the song ends with a snippet of the Rodgers and Hammerstein song "You'll Never Walk Alone" sung by fans of the Liverpool Football Club. It was released as the B-side of the single "One of These Days" and was only performed once in concert. Today we celebrate what would have been founding keyboardist Richard Wright's seventy-first birthday.
