The restaurant that has State St. in Cherry Valley jam packed every weekend is opening a second location in Rockford next month, and frankly, I can't believe it took so long for this to happen.

If you love Salamone's Italian Ristorante in downtown Cherry Valley, get your taste buds ready, because a second location for the restaurant will be opening this August on N Mulford Road in the former Joey C Cucina building.

According to the Rockford Register Star;

Salamone’s North Pizzeria & Bar is set to open in early August at 2583 N. Mulford Road under the ownership of Philip J. and Breianna Salamone. Philip is the brother of Benny Salamone, who, along with wife, Rosalie, owns the original restaurant at the corner of Cherry Street and State Street in Cherry Valley.

Salamone's new location will offer the same delicious pizza, sandwiches, entrees and appetizers as the original location, and it will have slot machines to play too. The restaurant will be open 7 days a week starting at 11 a.m., with dine-in, carryout and delivery options available.
