According to WREX  a Cook County Judge demanded that the Department of Public Health's director add PTSD to the state of Illinois list within a 30 day window.

Fifteen states have PTSD on their Medical Marijuana list.

PTSD (Posttraumatic Stress Disorder) can occur after you have been through a traumatic event.

A traumatic event is something horrific that scares you. Something you see, hear about, or that happens to you. Examples are:

  • Combat/Military Exposure
  • Sexual or Physical Abuse
  • Terrorist Attack
  • Sexual or physical assault as a Child
  • Serious Accidents, EMT, Police, Fire as well as be a passing witness
  • Natural disasters, tornado, etc

I took part in a benefit last summer for EMT's that suffer from PTSD, hopefully this ruling can help in some relief for those that suffer.
