UPDATE: Off-Duty Rockford Police Officer Arrested Today

An off-duty Rockford Police officer was arrested this morning in Loves Park.

UPDATE: 3:22 p.m.: According to WIFR: The Loves Park Police now say there were no charges or arrests made at this time. The officer has been taken into custody and investigation is underway.

1:58 p.m.: Just after 8:00 a.m. in the 1300 block of Theodore Street, an off-duty Rockford Police Officer was arrested after a domestic violence incident.

According to WIFR, a woman at the home was allegedly cut on her arm by the officer.

He drove off but then was taken into custody after a short time later at a home in Rockton.

Loves Park Police say that the officer and the woman have had a relationship.

The Loves Park Police and the Rockford Police have yet to name the woman or the officer.
