Nobody Hacked McDonald’s, They Flipped Their Arches On Purpose
If you're scrolling through social media today and notice something's a little off with McDonald's profile pictures, it's not just your eyes playing tricks on you or the mad skills of a hacker, they are different for one very important reason.
For today only (March 8), and for the first time ever, McDonald's has flipped their iconic arches to show support for International Women's Day. McDonald's has flipped their arches across all their social media platforms, and have even gone as far as physically flipping them on one of their California restaurants.
McDonald’s Chief Diversity Officer Wendy Lewis told WGN TV that the extreme measure was done "in honor of the extraordinary accomplishments of women everywhere.”
Bravo, McDonald's! I hope other national companies follow your lead and demonstrate a physical support of empowerment. I think I shall cheers your grand efforts with a Shamrock Shake today. Just please don't serve it to me upside down in the drive-thru.
