Rockford natives, Brock Spack and Sean Slattery, who made their names in football in the Forest City and at Illinois State University will be coming back to town to host an event promoting the Redbirds.

The NIC10 and the Rockford area has a long proud history of high school football.

Brock Spack is an East High School alumni. He went on the play and coach for Purdue. He is now the head football coach at Illinois State University where he has completely turned that program around.

Sean Slattery is a Boylan grad. The kicker had a great career at Illinois State. He kicked the winning field goal against Northwestern in 2016.

On Tuesday, July 24th, they both will be coming back for a very special event.

The Illinois State University Alumni Association invites you to "Back the Stache: A Night with Coach Spack!" Spack will be joined by Rockford native and former Redbird kicker Sean Slattery.

It will be a Prairie Street Brewhouse in the Peacock Room from 5:30pm-7:30pm.

It's $10 per person which includes appetizers and one drink.

I had the chance to chat with Coach Spack about the event and the upcoming season.
