The "Black Dot Campaign" has already saved 6 lives in less than 24 hours, but it may not be all it's cracked up to be.

A new way to help those who are victims of domestic violence is called the "Black Dot Campaign."

Victims are asked to put a black dot on their palm to signal they are in danger. If you are a passer by, or see someone with a black dot on their palm, you are urged to call the police in order to help save them from the abusive relationship.

Often times, abusers are watching victims every move. It can be extremely difficult for the victim to reach out for help. This is to aid in that.

The campaign started on Facebook according to Woman's Daily. (I tried searching for the original Facebook page, but came up with no luck.)

The campaign also is asking people to share their support by wearing black dots on their palms as well.

In my own humble opinion, isn't this making it all very confusing? I used permanent marker on mine... it will not wash off immediately! So now, will strangers on the street call 911 thinking I need help, but I don't?

Also, doesn't this draw even more attention to those who are victims? What if their abuser knows of this campaign, sees the dot on their victim and causes more trouble for them?

HLN doesn't seem to think that this is the best way to help either:

I'm not sure if it's all that it's cracked up to be, but I can agree... Domestic Abuse and Violence needs to END.
