According to WIFR thanks to quick thinking and reacting Loves Park officers a man's life was saved over Labor Day Weekend.

Darrell Preusse is lucky to be alive after suffering a heart attack. Mr. Preusse was spending the day with his girlfriend when we collapsed. The 911 dispatcher walked his girlfriend through the steps of CPR as the Loves Park Police made their way there. Approximately three minutes later, officers arrived and used an AED to revive Darrell.

The 911 dispatcher and the Loves Park Officers were recognized at the Loves Park City Council meeting. Officer Clausen of the Loves Park Police Department was quoted as saying:

"It really feels good that he lived and that our training actually works, and it's nice to know that the chief appreciates what we do. It's always nice to get a pat on the back".

Hats off to all involved from the Loves Park Police Department.
