An explosion evacuated a Loves Park neighborhood early this morning.

I can't imagine what I would be thinking after hearing a loud explosion in the middle of the night.

I would at first think it was probably part of my dream. Once reality sets in, I would probably go into a panic. Who am I kidding, I've slept through tornadoes and my husband watching action movies at loud volumes. But I think when someone comes knocking at my door dressed in protective gear, I would probably run.

According to WIFR, around  1:30 a.m., an explosion happened in a pick-up truck. It was parked on the street near the 400 block of Theodore.

People in the neighborhood were evacuated so the bomb squad could investigate what was happening.

There was not an additional threat found, so those evacuated were allowed back into their homes at around 5:30 a.m. this morning.

Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call the Loves Park Police Department at (815) 654-5015, or Crime Stoppers at (815) 963-7867.
