Local Walgreens to Carry Nasal Spray to Reverse a Drug Overdose

The nasal spray Narcan is being carried by Walgreens.

According to WIFR a nasal spray that can reverse the effects of a drug overdose is available locally at Walgreens. Narcan (Naloxone) is an FDA approved nasal spray that can help with a drug overdose. The nasal spray can be used in the event of an overdose from opioid drugs, including some prescription painkillers and even heroin.

Walgreens stated last year that their goal was to make the Naloxone medication available with a prescription. 45 states including Illinois are a part of this. Let's hope this helps and doesn't become some sort of a crutch.
