Johnsonville is recalling their jalapeno cheddar smoked sausages due to possible contamination.

WTVO reports that the maker of those tasty brats and sausages "has issued a recall for its jalapeno cheddar smoked sausages" due to contamination of "extraneous materials".

The company is recalling over 109,000 pounds of these smoked jalapeno cheddar sausages after they "received three complaints for pieces of hard, green plastic found in the sausage product."

At this time "no illness or injuries have been reported from the consumption of the product". The company, under the supervision of the USDA, is taking a proactive approach and recalling this product now.

If you're unsure if the sausages you have are those being recalled. Here are the specifics of the effected products:

"Fourteen-ounce plastic packages, with six jalapeno cheddar smoked sausages, a best by date of 4/4/2018 and a batch ID of 1001124486 or 1001124487, are subject to the recall." They will also have "the establishment number "EST. 34224" inside the USDA mark of inspection."

If you've purchased any of these sausages Johnsonville advises you to take it back to the store that you bought them from.

For more information or questions on the recall you can call or text "Johnsonville Consumer Relations at 1-888-556-2728" or visit their website at www.johnsonville.com.
