This is an exciting time of year if you're a fan of Chicago sports teams.

The best cities for sports fans was rated by 247wallst.com. Sitting at number four is Chicago.

Here are the reasons why Chicago ranked so high.

  • 5 teams (NFL, NHL, NBA, & 2 MLB).
  • 6 championships in last 20 years.
  • 52.2% average winning percentage.
  • Last championship in 2016 (Cubs).
  • All the teams have won championships.

If you think about it, right now is a good time to be a Chicago sports fan.

  • Chicago Cubs - Defending World Series Champion. Starting around run in the playoffs this week. They finished the season strong, There's a lot of competition, but don't count them out.
  • Chicago Blackhawks - Kick off their season this week. They have made some good moves during the offseason. With their core of players and the addition of new young and veteran talent, they have the chance to make another run at the Stanley Cup.
  • Chicago Bears - They haven't looked great so far this season, but they did beat the Steelers. Plus, there is a new hope as the second pick in the draft, Mitchell Trubisky starts at quarterback.
  • Chicago White Sox - They didn't have a successful season, but they traded for some great young talent. They have some of the best prospects in all of baseball and the future looks bright for them.
  • Chicago Bulls - They are rebuilding again, but they have brought in expert, Doug Collins to help out. He has a history with the team and is very knowledgeable.

As a side note,

  • Rockford IceHogs - They start their season this week too. They are stacked with some the Chicago Blackhawks top prospects. I expect a big improvement this year.

It looks good to be a Chicago Sports fan this week.
