Am I seeing this correctly, the Chicago Bears are picked to beat the Green Bay Packers this week in NFL action?

I was born a Chicago Bears fan. I've been going to games since I was eight years old. My family got season tickets in 1982. I went to both Super Bowls. As you can see, I'm kind of a diehard fan.

I remember the very first Bears vs Packers game I went to at Soldier Field. I was ten. Green Bay just destroyed Chicago. When I was leaving the game, an old man decked head to toe in green and gold looked at me and said, "Maybe someday your team won't suck."

That day my feelings for the NFL team from Wisconsin went from dislike to pure hate. It's only gotten worse through the years. No matter how good or bad the Bears are, I don't ever want them to lose to the Packers.

For the past several years, for the most part, Green Bay has owned Chicago. That has not made me a happy fan. Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers have ruined plenty of my Sundays in the fall.

With my team pretty much sucking again this season, I really didn't have any hope for a win. Something strange happened. Their quarterback got hurt. They are struggling worse than us.

Then I couldn't believe my eyes. According to nbcchicago.com,

"For the first time in nearly a decade, the Bears are actually the betting favorites to beat their NFC North rivals, as they are a five-point favorite at most sportsbooks in Las Vegas."

"The Bears haven’t been favored in a game against Green Bay since December of 2008."

I'm not going to get my hopes up, but I Bears win on Sunday would be nice.

Lets Go Bears!
