Is Studio Theatre at Rock Valley, Done

Well we learned yesterday that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rockford is ending. Now a local theatre is ready to shut down,

Studio Theatre at Rock Valley appears to be near the end. According to The Rock River Times Studio Theatre puts on four indoor plays per year as part of the schools theater program. Students act, produce and critique the shows.

Rock Valley College has been an amazing starting spot for actors that look to get their start in theatre.

Funding of such a theatre program will no longer me made available. The overall school budget shortfall is the reasoning.

On top of this news comes word that RVC Director Mike Webb, who has been in charge for three decades is thinking retirement.

Best of luck to all involved, hopefully some sort of solution can be reached and Studio Theatre at Rock Valley College can be saved. Also, best of luck to Mike Webb.
