If your car and home survived Monday's hail storm, I have bad news for you. It looks like Mother Nature may have another round of thundery, pounding fun in store for us this afternoon into the evening.

Here's what the Eyewitness News First Warn Weather Center has to say about the weather for today:

First area of showers will move through in the late morning and will be out of here around lunch. The second batch of storms arrives in the late afternoon and early evening. These storms we will want to pay attention to, as they could be strong to severe. All severe hazards are possible, but mainly  hail and heavy rain.

Yay, said no one ever, right? Eyewitness News aren't the only ones reporting severe weather conditions coming to Illinois.

And the National Weather Service in Chicago:

As of right now, no official watches or warnings have been issued for the Rockford area, but make sure to stay weather aware, as I'm guessing conditions could change in a hurry later today.
