Illinois Man Receives Diploma From NIU 63 Years After Graduation

Retired U.S. Navy lieutenant receives Northern Illinois University diploma, 63 years later.

Robert Roy "Gus" Trantham graduated in 1953 from Northern Illinois University.

Other obligations, meaning leaving to serve our beautiful country, got in the way of Gus walking across the stage for graduation and receiving his diploma.

Gus along with his family and staff at NIU explain his incredible story in the video below.

At this months Northern Illinois University Graduation, Gus was able to walk across the stage and receive his diploma 63 years in the making.
