Wisconsin grows it, will Illinois in 2018?

Industrial hemp is grown north of the border. According to WSIU in 2014, there was a federal farm bill that allowed states to grow hemp for research purposes. But still to this day farmers in Illinois cannot grow it, that's where the Illinois Farm Bureau comes in.

 

“For farmers it’s an opportunity to possibly diversify into a new crop. It’s something different than maybe the traditional crops you see grown in Illinois. It would be an opportunity for them to diversify and possibly make some new income off a new crop.”

 

More money for the farmers, and the state of Illinois...let's do this.
