There's something very strange going on in Illinois because many residents have been committing some evil crimes over the past few months.

IL Man Arrested For Starting Fires In Same Chain Store In 2 Different Locations

Do you ever see or hear about a crime and wonder what the suspect was thinking at the time and why would they do something bad like that? It doesn't even have to be something horrific. Even the simplest infraction. When you don't commit evil acts against your fellow humans, it's hard to wrap your brain around it.

This story kind of freaked me out because the ending could've been a lot worse. Luckily, it didn't and we just think of it as a "what the heck" moment. The crime happened during a busy time at a popular store chain in Illinois.

The story even starts a little weird. The suspect is from Wheaton, which is a western suburb of Chicago. He drove around an hour depending on the traffic to just south of the city. He could've easily stayed in his hometown area.

The suspect's first stop was Menards in Homer Glen. The man went to the aisle with air conditioner filters. Then, he started lighting them on fire. He was able to sneak out of the store without anyone catching him. The fire was put out with no problem.

That wasn't enough for him. A couple of hours later he showed up at another Menards location. This time in Tinley Park, another south suburb of Chicago. He did the same thing there, starting the air conditioning filters on fire. Once again, he got away but the fire was stopped without anyone getting hurt.

Luckily, both stores had license plate readers in their parking lots. They were able to track down the suspect and arrest him. He admitted to the whole thing. I wish they would share why he did it.
