House Approves New Illinois’ Official State Pie

The Illinois House approved a tasty pie for Illinois' official state pie.

What is life without pie? It's round, can be shared by many and is usually tasty. Usually is the key term. There are some pretty gross pies out there.

According to The Daily Chronicle, The Illinois House has approved legislation by a 108-3 vote to make Pumpkin Pie the Official State Pie of Illinois.

This now will pass to the Senate. If approved we will eat more pumpkin pie than one human can handle. Why? Because it's delicious, with extra whipped cream of course.

Rep. Keith Sommer of Morton is sponsoring this proposal. He said this bill is a tribute to how much pumpkin Illinois produces.

Do you know exactly how much pumpkin? 85 percent of all consumed pumpkin in the United States! I had no idea. I thought that number was astonishing.

It's about time Illinois gets highlighted for awesome things. Yay! Pumpkin Pie!
