A Rockford business has stepped up to help students at Kishwaukee Elementary School have food to eat during the summer months. Here's how you can help.

It's a sad truth we've all heard before. Several Rockford families have a hard time putting food on the table and making ends meet. The only full daily meal that some local kids get is the ones provided at their school. Obviously, this a huge problem when school is not in session. Local food pantries ramp up donation drives this time of year to make sure their shelves are well stocked for summer break, but often our local teachers take on the burden as well.

To ease the need for teachers to bring in food for their students to eat on weekends and school breaks, Abrahamsen State Farm in Rockford is hosting a food drive for Kishwaukee Elementary School.

To help Kishwaukee School's students in need just drop off unexpired and non perishable foods to Abrahamsen State Farm at 1890 Daimier Drive in Rockford anytime during business hours until May 19, 2017. They will make sure the food is given directly to the students who need it.

Thank you.
