I think I have a serious rodent problem or something! Why are these hawks always in my backyard?

I've never, in my life, seen a Red-Tailed Hawk until about three weeks ago. Every morning, noon and night I have seen hawks roaming in my backyard. What makes my backyard so special, I have no idea.

I don't mind them too much, as they are amazing creatures and are stunningly beautiful. In the video below, I am convinced the hawk wanted to play soccer... until he started eating a mouse.

Last night I was walking up to my back door not paying attention to my surroundings, and I felt as if something was looking at me. I look up and to my surprise there is one of the hawks staring straight into my soul! I jumped and secretly wished someone would have taped my reaction.

The hawk was sitting enjoying his dinner, a very dead smelly squirrel.

Have you ever had hawks in your backyard? Are they dangerous?
