Having kids during the summer means finding things for them to do so no one gets in trouble.

The Rockford Police department keeps their summer movie program going this Tuesday, July 10th.

They will be showing the movie Barnyard starting at 1 pm. The family-friendly movie is free for anyone that wants to come. Snacks like popcorn, granola bars, and bottles of water will also be provided.

The whole event takes place at District 1's brand new headquarters in their Community Room at 1045 W. State Street.

It's going to be hot outside, you might as well stop in and cool off with the movie.

This is a pretty cool thing the police are doing. There are three more screenings scheduled for the rest of the summer:

  • July 17 - Open Season
  • July 24 - Shrek
  • July 31 - Lion King

Swing by. Say hi to some officers and enjoy the movie. Free, fun afternoons are hard to come by. Enjoy them while they're here.
