Football season will kick off its regular season in September and for most of us in the Stateline, we'll be watching the oldest rivalry in the league.

But before the Packers and Bears take the field at Lambeau on September 9th, the Steve Miller Band will be playing a free show at the iconic field the night before.

The Green Bay Packers are celebrating 100 seasons at Lambeau Field, so they're planning a big celebration for opening weekend.

What's being called online at Packers.com as "Celebration Weekend", the free show from Milwaukee native Miller will be the highlight of the entire weekend. Of course most Packer fans, myself included, hope a victory over the Bears the following day will be the icing on the sundae.

The festivities will begin at 4:30pm on September 8th, when the Johnsonville Tailgate Village opens for fans and concert-goers. Live music will start at 7:30pm near the Oneida Nation Gate.

Not only is the Steve Miller Band playing a FREE show, but you'll be able to park for free within the Lambeau Field parking lots. The Lambeau Field Atrium, Packers Pro Shop, the Packers Hall of Fame,  and Lambeau Field Stadium tours will also be opening their regular hours.
