What an amazing time I had in Brooklyn. Being at The Barclay's Center to see Cheap Trick inducted into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, was one of the greatest moments of my life.

Here is my personal recap of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony. I spent the night in the press room. Had the chance to interact with a bunch of legendary musicians, and watch the ceremony.

Now these are my personal opinions and views on the evening, so here we go.

Five Things I Learned at The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Ceremony:

  • Deep Purple ALL Wanted Ritchie Blackmore There -  It is obvious that there is some really bad blood between Deep Purple members past and present, with Mr. Blackmore. They all basically said the same thing, we reached out and buried the hatchet. They were wanting Ritchie there and thought there was a chance up until the the very moment the show started.
  • Ice Cube Gave one of the Best Speeches of the Night - So what is a rap group doing in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame? "Rock and Roll is a spirit, it's an attitude". Yes sir Mr. Cube, nailed it.
  • Steve Miller is one of my Favorite People on The Planet - He takes no crap. He speaks his mind. While a publicist was trying to shut down his rant in the press room about how poorly artists are treated the the HOF, he stood his ground and finished his statement. Then Steve Miller smiled, said thank you and walked away.
  •  David Coverdale is a Gentleman - I was introduced to David Coverdale at a party I wasn't supposed to be at. "Captain, the pleasure is all mine...tell me all about your radio station in Rockford". This guy just got inducted into the HOF as a member of Deep Purple, also the legendary singer of Whitesnake and he wants to know about me?
  •  Mailing it in Isn't Cool no Matter who you are - Doesn't matter if you are a small band playing a club. Doesn't matter if you are super popular band that packs arenas. Doesn't matter if you are going into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You are on a stage, performing...act like you want to be there. That is your occupation, that is your passion, pretend like you care and give it your all. When you "mail it in" on stage, people know.

Wanna go see a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame band live, like METALLICA?? The Eagle wants to send you.
