You know the old saying… Manliness is next to godliness. Alright, we may have twisted that slightly, but every dude out there knows that in one's personal development, it's crucial to learn how to be a man. That's why we invited legendary bassist Duff McKagan to our studios, as he happens to be an expert on the subject.

Having lived over 50 years on this earth and playing with Guns N' Roses, Velvet Revolver, Loaded, Walking Papers and many others, Duff McKagan has unlocked the secrets of manhood. Even better, Duff has been gracious enough to share his knowledge with us all in the new book, How to Be a Man.

In this exclusive interview, Duff tells us how he came up with the book idea. After his beloved Seattle Seahawks won Super Bowl XLVIII, the bassist began to think about the topic of manliness. Back in his GN'R days, Duff thought being a man was all about how much you can drink, how many chicks you can nail and whose ass you can kick. According to Duff, there's actually much more to it.

One of Duff McKagan's cardinal rules is "Don't be a Dick." As we all know, this one can be difficult. Despite this, Duff has the answers. The veteran musician also offers advice on raising daughters. McKagan has decades of cumulative experience on the topic, having raised two girls himself. In this clip, you'll find yourself privy to McKagan's stellar advice.
