Downtown Rockford Gets a Facelift [POLL]

The Rockford City Council has approved a measure to give the Amerock building downtown, according to Eyewitness News Channel 17. 

The plans make it possible for a private firm to transform the abandoned building into a hotel and convention center. I have been lucky on many occasions to stand on the big stage at Davis Park to introduce bands. Every time I did, I would look at the Amerock building and wonder to myself, "Billy Idol doesn't want to look out at that thing!"

I hope this is a step in making downtown the focus of Rockford. The potential is huge for great things.
