Spring planting is underway and farm equipment will be traveling the roads.

According to WISCORN passing the slow moving farm equipment in a "no passing" zone is in fact illegal.

"Out of safety for motorists and farmers, state law was changed in 2014 to make it illegal to pass farm machinery in a no passing zone, There is some confusion, because while it is legal to pass other vehicles in a no passing zone if they are going less than half of the posted speed limit, it is not legal to pass farm equipment in a no passing zone." - Casey Kelleher, Whitewater, and president of WCGA

While this comes from a Wisconsin source, yes it is illegal in Illinois as well CLICK HERE.
