Do you Remember Poplar Creek Music Theatre?

From 1980 to 1994 we had a great outdoor music venue just up the road from Rockford.

Poplar Creek Music Theatre had some of the biggest acts play live just miles from Rockford, in Hoffman Estates. I went to a handful of shows at Poplar Creek including Ozzy with opening act Vixen (kinda strange) I also saw comedian Andrew "Dice" Clay there.

There was a great hillside, (not as steep as Alpine Valley) that held 18,000. It also had the sheltered seating that could hold 7000.  Poplar Creek Music Theatre was the premier Chicago area outdoor concert venue.

According to Daily Herald from 1980 and 1994, the biggest names in entertainment played at Poplar Creek Music Theatre.
