There is a great schedule of Classic Rock bands coming to Ravinia located in the Chicago suburbs this summer.

I'm a huge fan of going to concerts. Especially, at unique places.

There is a very different type of venue in Highland Park, Illinois which is just outside of Chicago and not very far from Rockford. It's called Ravinia.

The set up is not like any other outdoor theater I've ever been to. There is a normal pavilion with reserved seating.

The lawn is considered more of a picnic area. You can hear the bands perfectly, but you can't see them. Before you start complaining, there is something you need to know. You can bring your own. I'm talking about food, coolers, chairs, tables, blankets, beverages,  and even alcohol. Yes, I said you can bring your own booze. Think about how much money you will save.

There are also restaurants and bars to hang out at.

If you want to be up close and personal with the band, that is possible. Don't care about watching the band, but want to party and hear the music. You can do that too.

There are some great Classic Rock bands playing this year.

  • June 3rd - Loverboy & Survivor
  • June 12th - ZZ Top & John Fogerty
  • June 15th - Jackson Browne
  • June 23rd & 25th - Roger Daltrey
  • June 29th - Bryan Adams
  • September 3rd - Jethro Tull
  • September 7th - Yes

Check out the full schedule right HERE.

I recommend checking it out.
