Celebrate that red hair of yours this year in Chicago!

Not going to lie, I've always wanted to be a redhead. When I was very young and in ballet, one of my first routines was a "Cabbage Patch" doll routine. Each girl got to choose a yarn wig, and I of course wore a bright reddish-orange wig. I have redhead envy. I've tried to dye my hair red on numerous occasions, but it never seems to work. I'm too blonde.

June 6th and 7th will be big days for the redheaded community. In the city of Highwood, these days will be dubbed Redheads Day Chicago and they will have a huge festival celebrating all of the redheaded glory.

The festival will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. There will be "ginger"-themed food and beverages and of course, a carrot cake contest as well.

Now this sounds like my kinda party!

You can read all about the festival at ChicagoTribune.com.
