A frightening tale about Alpine Valley Ski Resort is told by a family from Chicago.

When I was in high school and college, my friends and I used to enjoy going skiing. We never went to professional places like Colorado. Our trips usually stayed in the Midwest, mostly in Wisconsin.

If you have ever been to a concert at Alpine Valley Music Theater, you've probably seen the ski lift and hill in the background. It was one of the spots we would hit. I wasn't a great skier, so it was perfect for me.

The snow would get slick and since I didn't have a lot of experience, I would wipe out. Luckily, I never got hurt. I would try to be careful because I knew my limitations.

Now, a family from Chicago is warning people visiting the resort about some possible dangerous situations that could occur.

According to wgntv.com,

"A suburban Chicago family is warning other parents about a day on the slopes that left them traumatized."

"They were skiing at Alpine Valley, a popular ski resort in Wisconsin when one of their sons lost control coming down one of the runs and fell. He tumbled through a small fence and into the river that runs through the resort. He briefly wound up tangled up in the fence underwater."

Apparently, that's not the first time. It's happened several. Luckily, no one has been seriously injured. This boy was treated for hypothermia.

The parents said they won't be returning.

I've been to a few of the resorts in our area. At some of them, there seems to be a short stopping area. There's either a building, trees, or a creek.

if you decide to check any out, please be careful.
