A bank robber in Chicago ordered a ride from Lyft to use as his getaway car.

I've watched many action movies in my life. The one thing I've learned if you're going to commit a serious crime, you need a full proof plan for a getaway car. Otherwise, you're most certainly going to get busted.

Through the years, criminals have gotten more and more creative with their escape plans. I knew once ride-sharing companies like Uber and Lyft became successful, it was only a matter of time before they were involved in breaking the law.

In fact, an incident just happened in Chicago.

According to chicago.suntimes.com,

"A man has been charged with robbing a bank in northwest suburban Rolling Meadows and hiring a Lyft car to escape to O’Hare Airport."

This just sounds like a bad plan from the start.

The suspect ordered Lyft to pick him, take him to his neighborhood bank, and then to O'Hare.

He entered the bank and gave the teller a threatening note stating he was robbing the place. Even with a mask, employees recognized him because he was a regular customer.

Once he got the cash, the thief took off in the Lyft to the airport. On the way, he took pictures of the stolen loot and sent them to his friend.

The police picked him up at his destination with the money.

Looks like he'll be spending some time behind bars.
