Be sure to make Nicholas Conservatory one of your Rockford holiday stops this Christmas season.

One of my favorite Christmas traditions as a kid was going to "Breakfast with Santa." I thought it was so cool getting to hang with St. Nick.

If you've never done it with your kids, I suggest going this year. There is a really unique opportunity to attend the holiday event this year at Nicholas Conservatory.

It's such a beautiful place anytime of year, but during the Christmas season, it's extra special. From November 26th through January 7th, they host "All Aglow." According to their website...

"Celebrate the holidays at Nicholas Conservatory & Gardens! Come see sparkling holiday lights and beautiful floral displays inside the warm tropical conservatory. Outdoor grounds are also decorated for the season."

I've taken my family there the last couple of years and it's truly amazing.

Then you can add "Breakfast with Santa" to the mix.

  • Saturday, December 2: 8-9:30 & 9:30-11
  • Saturday, December 9: 8-9:30 & 9:30-11
  • Saturday, December 16: 8-9:30

"Begin your morning with a delicious breakfast, meet our lovely Winter Fairy, and enjoy fun holiday activities and a craft. Your morning will end with a trip through our All Aglow Exhibit, complete with a garden train, and visit with Santa."

They also have live music featuring "Sounds of the Season" 6p-8p on certain weekend nights.

  • December 16: Harvard High School Madrigal Singers
  • December 17: Jodi Beach
  • December 23: Kevin Earlywine

Don't forget to take a ride on the "All Aglow Express" with Trolley Car 36.

As you can see, there's a lot of holiday fun happening there.
