I had a chance to meet the gentlemen from "Beneath the Beard" on Saturday, what an amazing organization. Here is the story behind "Beneath the Beard":

Sgt Ryan Curry, Purple Heart recipient and PTSD warrior, created Beneath the Beard to educate the world on the effects of Veterans coping with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI), Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), depression, and other combat related mental health concerns. Ryan created Beneath the Beard to help educate on what to look for, how to help, and why it’s beneficial to hire these heroes in the workplace.

This Saturday November 11th (Veterans Day) at Locust Street Press in Belvidere, Beneath the Beard is teaming up with Amanda Ann Art to raise funds for Vets with PTSD. Here's the deal:

Amanda Ann Art has teamed up with Beneath the Beard to raise funds for Vets with PTSD. My friend, and Veteran himself, has been working hard to bring hope to our Vets who feel down and out. He works to provide counsel, meals and Christmas gifts to fellow Veterans. Let's help him reach more people! There will be two workshop times; 10 a.m. & 3 p.m.. The cost is $35 per artist. Bring a Winter Jacket to be entered into a drawing that will be held at the end of the day (need not be present to win). I'm super excited about this event! Light snacks and refreshments will be provided. For registration info, go to www.amandaannart.com. To check out the cause, go to www.BeneaththeBeard.org.
