Please allow me a selfish parent moment here, but I came across an article today that totally has me feeling the need to profit off of my kids' loss without them knowing about it.

I know, I'm terrible, but give me a minute to explain. I'm willing to bet you may feel the same as me when you hear this.

Through Thursday, April 5, 2018 Bed, Bath & Beyond is buying old Toys R Us gift cards. Seriously. This is what says on their Facebook page;

Trade in your Toys R Us gift cards before they expire and exchange for a Bed Bath & Beyond eGift Card.

What's the catch you're wondering? According to Today.com;

Consumers won't get the full face value of the original Toys R Us gift card, and the exchange program will only accept cards with a balance of $20 or more.

Today also reports that this exchange program does not pertain to Toys R Us or Babies R Us merchandise credits, and that consumers are receiving, on average, about $16.05 for a $20 Toys R Us gift card. You can see how much you can get for your old Toys R Us gift cards right now at their gift card exchange website.

If you're thinking ok, why would I want to exchange my gift card for less when I can still use it at Toys R Us for full retail value? The truth? You may not want to.  Keep in mind though that the ability to buy merch on the Toys R Us and Babies R Us websites is already gone, and items are flying off the store shelves so you may not find something your kids really want....annnnnd then you can get those super soft bath towels and sheets that you really want.

Are you a selfish parent now too? Pretty tempting huh.
